Abuse is a big problem on this planet, there are many types of abuse that are used in a different type of way. But what about animal abuse, you may think that humans being abused is a lot worse than animals. But when you really think about it, animals are just as important as us so why shouldn't they be treated in the same way. It is cruel to think that animals are being hurt for no reason (as well as humans) up to 10 to 20 years of jail time is required for human abuse. But cruelty to animals can be prosecuted as either a misdemeanor or felony with a fine up to $1000 or imprisonment for up to 1 year. For intentionally torturing or injuring an animal requires a fine up to $5000 or imprisonment for up to 5 years. I would protest over animal abuse and human abuse adding up to the same punishments, animals deserve to have the same rights as humans.

Its day 4 activity 2 for summer learning journey, we had to write about an issue that we would protest about. I would protest about animal abuse and how it's unfair.

Kia ora Paige, this is a very compelling subject to protest and I can tell you have done research on the topic. Animal abuse is a very serious issue but there are improvements being made on higher levels by companies and governments but I find the best way to protest it is to tell people about it and support brands that dont support animal cruelty! Your writing is very good and I can see this is something you are very passionate about. Do you have many animals at home?
