For activity 3 week 1 day 1 summer learning journey, I chose the breast cancer foundation charity to explain and tell you what the foundation/charity does. 

The breast cancer foundation is trying to reduce the deaths caused by breast cancer, by doing charity work and collecting donations to use for further research and treatment. And mostly to help women afford the treatment they are giving. The research is helping to find the tumors earlier so they don't become worse over time and also to improve the treatment outcomes.

Summer learning journey day 4 activity 2

Its day 4 activity 2 for summer learning journey, we had to write about an issue that we would protest about. I would protest about animal abuse and how it's unfair.

Abuse is a big problem on this planet, there are many types of abuse that are used in a different type of way.  But what about animal abuse, you may think that humans being abused is a lot worse than animals. But when you really think about it, animals are just as important as us so why shouldn't they be treated in the same way. It is cruel to think that animals are being hurt for no reason (as well as humans) up to 10 to 20 years of jail time is required for human abuse. But cruelty to animals can be prosecuted as either a misdemeanor or felony with a fine up to $1000 or imprisonment for up to 1 year. For intentionally torturing or injuring an animal requires a fine up to $5000 or imprisonment for up to 5 years. I would protest over animal abuse and human abuse adding up to the same punishments, animals deserve to have the same rights as humans.

This term for Maori myths and legends, my class have been reading and answering questions to Maori myths and legends about how they found New Zealand. And then we had to make a poster, rap, song, interview or presentation, about how it was discovered and created. I chose to do a poster and make it about Matariki. I hope you like it.
